About:
Knights of Pythias Greenwood Cemetery was established in 1869. It once was a grand cemetery, but it then began to languish from neglect and over the course of decades spiraled further into a state of ruin.
Parts of it had become a forest. Abandoned cars and other debris were dumped here.
In 2008, a new group took control of the property and launched a huge revitalization effort that at one point involved 40 archaeologists. Today, the cemetery is a place of beauty, and burial lots are now available for purchase.
