Northwood Cemetery is a non-profit, non-denominational burial ground in the Downingtown, Pennsylvania area. This hilly, picturesque cemetery was formed in 1871 and is 40 acres in size. Graves currently occupy 20 acres of the land, so there is room for more graves.
Note: Exercise extreme caution when driving out of the cemetery. Visibility of approaching cars is not good.
Pricing information as of January 2019:
Grave lots are $900 each. Grave size is 40 inches by 10 feet. Up to 2 burials can be placed in a grave lot, whether these are traditional burials, cremations, or a combination of both.
Northwood Cemetery requires the purchase of 2 granite corner markers to mark the grave site. These are 8 inches square and engraved with the lot owner’s name or initial(s) (up to 5 characters). They will be positioned at the foot of the lot. Cost is $200 for a set of two corner markers.
Cremation lots are available in Section L for $500. These spaces are 2 feet by 3 feet and can accommodate 2 cremation urns. Only flat markers are allowed on cremation lots.
Section G has slightly larger cremation lots available for $700. These lots allow placement of an upright monument.
This cemetery has a generous finance offer for pre-need grave site purchases.

Grave Opening & Closing Costs:
$1100 - for a single depth burial
$1350 - for a double depth burial
$600 - for burial of a cremation urn or vault
$300 - for burial of a second cremation urn or vault
$300 - for an infant or child
Additional charges apply for these events:
$250 …add’l charge for a Saturday funeral.
$400 …add’l charge for a Sunday funeral.
$150 …add’l charge for a Saturday cremation burial.
$200 …add’l charge for a Sunday cremation burial.
Further additional charges may apply. No burials on holidays.
Foundation fee is 60 cents per square inch.
No permit fees for mark-outs or footers.
Deed transfer cost is $50.
