Longwood Cemetery in Chester County (Pennsylvania) is nice. The people running it seem to be easy-going, because all sorts of stones appear to be allowed here, from tiny to tall. Some people decorate their loved ones' graves and apparently it is permitted.

There is no website. No email address.

When you dial their phone number, it isn't even clear whether you are calling a cemetery or not. You just get a generic robo greeting when nobody answers the phone.

Oddly I did see one grave area that had clearly been mowed by a family member of whoever was buried there, even though the surrounding grass wasn't that high.

Update: May 23, 2018

Longwood Cemetery is being taken over by Longwood Gardens. Burial lots are available for sale until August 31, 2018. After this date, burial lots at Longwood Cemetery will no longer be offered, according to what I just heard.

Pricing Information as of June 2018:

Graves are $1200 each.

So if you want 2 graves, your cost will be $2400. Three graves = $3600.

A grave can accommodate one body and one set of cremated remains. Or a grave can be used to inter up to three cremated remains.

It is expected the cemetery will be maintained to a high standard as Longwood Gardens takes over. Headstones and foundations needing repairs will be addressed. Sonar will be used to hunt for unmarked graves. In 2 years the cemetery should look like the rest of Longwood Gardens, from what I have been told.

According to what I have continued to be told... last day to buy a grave here will be August 31, 2018. After that date, forget about it.
